Mike - how wonderful about your family's trip to Onati! For those of us who travel with you in spirit, please hike up to Aranzazu, have tinto and tapas in the town square, say hello to everyone you meet, eat melacoton melba, visit San Lorenzo, tour the chocolate factories (are there any left?), etc. etc.

Wow, I can almost smell the olive oil from the kitchen!

In the courtyard photo you can see the doors to the gym on the left, and to the dorms on the right.

Took a walk over to San Lorenzo this morning, not far from our piso, which is in the same building as the apartment the Bieter family lived in, right behind the old Maiztegui chocolate factory. The entire building seems to belong to the Universidad de Mondragon, part of the University of the Basque Country. ETEO is still a business school, but they now have MBA and PHD programs there, and several international students.

Courtyard

Jone (daughter) and I went inside... deja vu! The courtyard needs a trim, but Padre Luis (Lulú) isn't around anymore. The doors to the old dorms, the ceramics studio, the dining room, and the bar were all locked. They may still use the bar, but it was 9 am.
