Hi Mike - it's been a long time since I've checked this site ... just busy, I guess. Anyway, it reminds me of how much I enjoyed that year in Spain and how much fun it was to get to know all of these great people! Sarah and I are planning a trip to Turkey next summer to visiit Dan and his wife who have been teaching there. Afterwards, we're planning to head to Spain to meet up with Suzanne, her daughter, and possibly Joan and others. Let us know if you and your family will be in Onati area in June/July 2011!

Hey Mike -- great to hear from you and thanks for the birtday wishes! It was great to see you and your bros in Boise, and then Bea and Jone on Sunday. It is pretty sad that we had to go all that way to meet up, but eiter way ... By the way, meant to tell you that John and I were super impressed with Jone's final paper -- that means someting coming from John, who has the brains in the bunch and who said he would not have been able to write something so good even when e was in grad school. It's Sunday, the 5th, I'm pulling a little weekend duty at work. We have had many layoffs at the station and things are difficult. More work and less time to get things done. "The Recession Blues." I admit to not being very high tech and am unsure how to add photos to the San Lorenzo Times, but I sure enjoy looking at the ones that have been posted.

You asked about an e-mail for Dan Gallagher. I don't have one but he's the editor of the Long Valley Advocate in Cascade, surely he must have an e-mail there (208) 382-3233 is the paper's number. I haven't seen him for a long time. Last time was when I was in Cascade on business and he was having a motorized snow plow delivered.

I run into your brothers now and then.

I sure enjoyed the clip of Billy getting his star in Hollywood. Who would have ever thought it back in 1974? Well, actually, we probably all thought it because there was just something unique about him and his talent for acting was so obvious even then. I remember when I first heard him read Shakespeare in Woody's class. And I have the honor of being the worst actor ever to appear in a play with Peterson: Hamlet back at San Lorenzo.

Hey Mike -- very sorry I haven't responded to your note from January, I didn't know I had an alert until I looked at some old emails at work. Great to hearf rom you. I have been somewhat active with the club but not as active as I would like to be. We are working to see if we can get the Smithsonian folklife festival to feature the Basques in 2011 or 2012 -- would really be a great show and good exposure for Euskadi. We'll keep our fingers crossed. Hope you and Bea are doing well.

Tricia (teaches in Boise) and Nancy (lives in D.C.) will be easy. Dan owns a farm with a natural hot springs in the desert of south central idaho (Oreana) ... I hardly ever see him but I'll see if I can get all the emails and forward this website to them.

Good to hear from you...hope this finds you well. Spend my time between Boise and McCall these days. I am the GM for Frontier Communications, live in Boise and have offices in McCall and Homedale. Lot of Basques in the Homedale area so I fit right in although I spend most of my time up North. Let's stay in touch and thanks for inviting me to this forum.

Hi Mike - have been here since 2002 - on my 25th year with the gov. which has taken me from Seattle to Boise to DC to Boston and hopefully end up back in Idaho someday. Thanks for this great site - hopefully we'll get some more from 3rd year to join in. How long have you been in Charlottesville? My baby sis Mary lives in Huntington, WVA and they love to visit there.

Do you have any of these other Elko people on the San Lorenzo list? Patxi Lostra, Gretchen Holbert, Dan Landa, Mercedes Lostra, I did see Steve Mendive on the list, can't think of any others unless you can. If you don't I can sure get emails for them!
